User Experience is Important in the Enterprise

More and more enterprise companies are learning that user experience is an important aspect of the services and applications that they deliver. For one thing, customers are quickly coming to expect, even demand, a better user experience. Delivering a terrific user experience also gives a company a competitive advantage over their competition, which ultimately amounts to profit and customer retention. In addition, better user experiences delivered via smart clients built with technologies like Adobe Flex and AJAX can also provide technical advantages over the internet's more traditional server-intensive architectures. This is a topic we're going to hear more and more about for a long time to come, and is our primary focus at effectiveui. I decided to blog about this after reading an excellent ZDNet article about the importance of user experience RIAs in the enterprise and, more specifically, about initiatives at BEA and SAP to use Adobe Flex to create better user experiences.
